Starting Saturdays with an awesome brunch always feels perfectly serene and blissful. Intended to try out the "I AM" cafe at Haji lane but it was way too packed and we didn't had time to wait (since I was late :o) so headed back to Bugis Junction for our comfort food from our favourite cafe. What I really like about the outlet at Bugis is that it is located right at the top level of the shopping mall, making it exceptionally quiet and peaceful. It isn't really crowded most of the time too which I deemed it as a positive thing.
One Egg Soup $7.90
This is my favourite soup from anywhere so far.The thick soup texture with the crispy fried egg white make a perfect combination. The only complaint I have about the soup is that once you start cutting apart the crispy piece, the oil will seep into the soup making it really oily at the end (although it is still really nice). It would have been better if the they were placed separately :)
Grilled Pork Chop with Curry shoestring fries $17.90
Thick cut flamed pork steak with in-house Miso sauce
When it comes to food, I am rather unadventurous and would end of eating the same thing time and time again. The steak was a little too hard for my liking though. Nevertheless, the curry fries saved the day.
EWF Mushroom Cheese Burger with Sour Cream & Onion Shoestring fries $16.90
Combination of juicy wild mushrooms and handmade marinated beef patty
The mushrooms and fries were really good but the patty was a little too thick and jelat.
Hot Banana Butterscotch pudding with Vanilla Ice cream $7.90
Double happiness is when you get a combination of both of your favourite food. Banana + Ice-cream is just awesome combination. The butterscotch is a bonus although it is a little overly sweet. But overall, the warm pudding and cold ice-cream makes my day happier.
