Rainbow Beauty at Lynn's Cakes & Coffee

This is why I love recess week. You get to have ample rest and time for whatever you can't really enjoy during the semester. Waking up late is one of the biggest luxury. Drew orders, replied emails, checked a few school forum pages and headed down to the post office to drop off parcels. Decided to pop by a cafe that I've read from a blog since it is just near my neighbourhood. It was a decently quaint little cafe right smacked in the middle of a row of cluttered and old shop houses and coffee shops. Spent a quiet afternoon reading magazines, drawing, drinking tea and eating cakes. A relaxing and laid back cafe for you to spend your afternoon away. Life can hardly get better.

No service charge although their service is A class. Very friendly and considerate staff who helped me refill my glass of water even when I didn't ask for it. Totally made my day :)

| Rainbow Beauty $8.50 |

It tastes equally amazing as it looks. Indeed a true beauty in and out. Unlike other rainbow cakes which I've tried which focuses a lot on the cream and colours, this one is real spongy cake. Too much cream on the outside though but that is fine as long as there isn't much cream in between the layers. Initially thought that each colour represents a unique flavour. Attempted to guess but failed really badly. It is also one huge piece so you might want to share it with another friend.

| House-brewed Iced Lemon Tea $5.50 |

Was initially a little apprehensive when I saw the price for the drink as it was the only cold drink that interests me. However, my doubts were cleared as it wasn't any coffee shop kind of iced lemon tea. I could almost taste every ounce of flavour in it and iced lemon tea never tastes as good.

Brought my sketchbook along and did some sketching just because Sketch-a-Tote has reached 1000 followers on Instagram! (Throws Confetti)

A pretty outdoor layout and really considerate of them to install a fan outside too.
