Welcome to my first post of a new segment on my blog called Exploring Little Red Dot. You can also find more of my daily finds in Singapore on Instagram under the hashtag #exploringlittlereddot. I adore traveling and absolutely love the beautiful sights and cultures from all over the world. However, more often than not, I feel that I've yet to explore my own hometown well enough. So here's to more documentations of how beautiful sunny Singapore is and can be.
Took a trip down to Gardens by the Bay - Flower Dome and Cloud Forest (check out in the next post) during the long SG50 jubilee weekend with my family and it was splendidly breathtaking. Stepping into the flower dome, you can be at close proximity with the flowers, enjoying their colors and fragrance. The flowers in the dome also replicate the cool-dry climate of Mediterranean regions such as South Africa, California and parts of Spain and Italy.
The flower field on the lower level consists of changing flower displays that reflects different seasons and festivals. The last time when I was there, it was the Tulipmania exhibition, where colourful and extravagant tulips were flown in from Holland. This time round, in view of Singapore's 50th Jubilee Birthday, the flower field showcased a wide range of orchid species.
Feeling so proud of this little red dot that we all call home. To many more years (and hopefully to witness SG100 too) of progress!
