Lunch Adventures with The White Rabbit at the Rabbit Hole

Having to say that The White Rabbit is the most romantic and mysterious restaurant is greatly an understatement. Headed to the beautiful chapel for a post-ROM lunch affair (not mine of course) and immediately fell in love with the dimly lit chapel. With tall stained glass windows and patterned metal grilled windows, a generous portion of light streamed in, giving us just enough light to enjoy the meal.

I guess the owner of the restaurant must be a huge lover of Lewis Carroll's Alice in the Wonderland. Every moment in the restaurant felt like a tea party. The ceilings are high and it made me feel small and intrigued at the same time.

We went ahead with the set lunch which consists of a starter, main dish and a dessert. The 2-course set without the dessert is $38++ per pax.

Set Lunch | Starter, Main, Dessert | $42++

Frisee Salad
Radicchio and red spinach, bacon chips, poached egg

Pan-seared Foie Gras

60-hour Braised Mangalica Pork Belly
chilli pepper glaze, white beans, miso broth

Sauteed Japanese Seabream
creamed leeks, smoked mussles, browned butter, PX Sherry

Chicken Roulade
chestnuts, ceps mousse, barley and crispy kale

36-hour Brandt Shortribs
truffle miso glaze, parsnip puree, field mushroom

Lemon Meringue Tart
Acacia honey ice cream, mint fluid gel

Fresh Fruit Melange
grapefruit shaved ice, dark chocolate

Chocolate Fondant
molten caramel core, banana and rum ice cream

It felt like a magical afternoon in the fairytale world once again. In the company of loved ones, delicious food and romantic ambience, I felt like a little girl once again. I treasure quality time a lot, especially with the people that I love and care for. Time could have just stayed still. Definitely one of the magical places that I would head back in the future, hopefully for a dinner this time round?

Some of the dishes which we adore were the pork belly, short ribs and the chocolate fondant (my favourite! What's there not to love about warm hot fudge cakes with ice-cream).

Walk right across and you will find The Rabbit Hole, a secret garden snuggly hidden at the back. It is a place for adventure lovers to hang out when the sky falls. The Rabbit Hole in the white brick wall is a way brilliant idea that I am still marveling over now. What's more special is that beyond the hole lies a wide patch of green field that looks a little raw and wild. Smells like a little adventure to me.
