Shiberty Bakes (Featuring Churros Waffles)

You would have probably heard about Shiberty Bakes, which is a cafe opened by blogger Jessica, also known as Shiberty on Instagram. Ever since the cafe opened early this year, many have been flocking down to have a taste of Shibery's creations. Finally, I got to do the same before the year ends (at least). Shiberty Bakes is probably one of the very few cafes which excel in both savory and sweet menus.

Churros Waffles $15
Cinnamon Sugar, Chocolates, Toffee Lashings, Hazelnut and Sea Salt Caramel Ice Cream

One bite into the crispy waffles sends you to cloud nine, as you have a taste of the fine cinnamon sugar melting into the two-flavoured ice-cream. Can I just exclaim how much I love the Sea Salt Caramel Ice Cream? Definitely a very sinful but satisfying and comforting dessert. I mean who can resist churros, waffles, and ice-cream right? What more a combination of these three! This is probably the best combination waffles I've had in many years.

Strawberry Cheesecake Milkshake $9

Mixed Berries Fruit Smoothie $7

A wide range of yummy loaded milkshakes can be found on the menu, such as: French Vanilla, Red Velvet, Caramelized Cookie, Strawberry Cheesecake, Chocolate Hazelnut, Oreo, Sea Salt Caramel and Matcha. The Strawberry Cheesecake Milkshake was a tad too milky so it ended up tasting more like strawberry milk than cheesecake. The Mixed Berries Smoothie however, was refreshing and fresh, with just the right mix of fruits and milk. If you would like, you may try some other interesting combinations such as Apple Peach, Kiwi Pineapple and Passionfruit Mango.

Baked Eggs $14
Bacon, Sausages, Eggs, Tomatoes, Cheese, served with salad and buttered toast cubes

A dish that is recommended by almost all instagrammers who visited the cafe. Basically it is something like baked rice concept, but just that the rice is replaced with eggs. Together with ingredients like bacon, sausages and tomatoes, topped with a generous amount of cheese, this is definitely a comfort food for someone who just needs a cheese-fix desperately.

Curry Chicken Toast $15
Local Singapore Curry Chicken encased in a buttered thick-toast with cheese

Finally let's talk about this Curry Chicken Toast! If you are a curry and cheese lover, you have to (x10) give this a try. The curry chicken in my opinion is pretty much similar to that of Curry times's. The curry chicken is encased in a square buttered thick charcoal-toast that is toasted just enough for it to be hard on the outside but yet soft and fluffy on the inside. For curry lovers like me who can't really take the spice (haha the irony), fret not as the portion of cheese is just enough to neutralize the spiciness from the curry. The dish comes with indian snacks covered with curry powder. That is a pretty creative combination and addition to the dish, I think, just that it wasn't as crispy as I would have loved for it to be.

Situated in a quiet neighborhood in Farrer Park, Shiberty Bakes seems to be a good cafe to chill with your friends or to catch up with some work, or even just spend a quiet afternoon reading. And if you are craving for something sweet, head over to their counter to pick up some macarons ($2 each) or some cakes. Have I also mentioned that it is a GST-free cafe? One last thing to note before you head down to the cafe is that each dish takes quite some time to be prepared, but good things are worth the wait, isn't it!
